Default lost power with LT Headers

i have a 94 hawk with cc503,1.6 pro mags,P&P heads (flow 260-270ish),ported intake, ram air, M6, and now pacesetter LTsand ORY. My prob. is i just put the headers on to get rid of the crappy manifolds. and it feel like i lost power with the headers over the manifolds.(WHY) ALSO let me add it is on the stock tune. any thoughts on why

I thought the same its louder now so you think that and you lost low end so get it tuned and go from there change the timeing the let it no theres no cats so you dont need to make back pressure to get the power.

it may feel as if you lost power and in a way you did..
the RPM and TQ level has changed from what you are used to.
a tune will definately help overall power!!!!!!!!!!!

You're running all of those mods without a tune? That's probably not real safe on the motor.

Tune it. Manifolds give the illusion of low-end power much like shorties, but they aren't worth a damn for letting the engine breath even with a small cam.

I had the same problem after installing mine. I went the deebo route and rewired the o2's instead of buying the extensions, so she threw codes at the track and ran slower than stock.

Plugged a 'Vette o2 into the bad bank and it's running great.

Scan it for codes and something is bound to pop up somewhere

as everyone else said. TUNE IT. also you may have gained some high end power rather than low end.

Yup..this is why I set my ride up for low end and went with Mids. LT's = more top end then lower.

key point here are you have ported heads and much larger cam than stock on a stock tune, it should be rather obvious what you must do

dont bitch until you get the tune, it really doesn't cost much considering madz28 or pcmforless can get a tune fairly close since its such a popular combo

when i put LT's on my car it felt like i lost some low end on the stock tune as well but as soon as i got a tune it was pretty much all back and really starts putting on the power at about 2000 rpm with the stock cam

dont bitch from lack of power if you havn't done the supporting mods when putting a cam and lts on your car hell even if you put in cam and headers on a carburated engine the air and fuel requirements will change and adjustments will be needed on the carb, same deal with fuel injection

that makes about as much sense as installing a B16 honda motor in a camaro! get it tuned bro mail orders are cheap compared to what it cost for all those mods you have. i went with a madz28 tune from Ion

Years ago when i had an LT1 i swear i felt like i lost some power when i added LT's. I searched high and low and was beaten by 5L mustang GT's. Couldn't figure it out then one day i added an MSD Digital 6 and holy **** did the power come on. Still to this day think i had a electrical system problem.

Retune and MSD coil (cheap for LT1's). More air, more fuel, might want more spark too.

there's really no reason to waste money on an msd coil at the level the OP is at he would be much better off using the 50 bucks towards a mail order tune
