Default Fluid leak, need help.

Heres the problem: I left for work today and came home to see a 1 foot in diameter spot of fluid. It was mainly clear but had a shade or reddish/brown to it. It was sticky to the touch and it was directly under the engine bay. All i know is that I have not seen any leaks while under the car changing oil etc. Today, while I was on my way to work, the low coolant indicator came on but after work when I left, it did not come on again. The only other thing i know of it that a mechanic said my freon level was a lb low. Please help. Thanks.

well, freon isnt a liquid, its a vapor when it leaks. reddish brown might be trans fluid.

I just changed out the trans fluid over the weekend and it was not leaking, it is mostly clear and its not really close to the transmission at all? Could it be dex-coolant?

Smell it. You should be able to tell by smelling it if it's trans fluid or dex cool.

they all smell like ****.

Trans fluid is the most noticable red of all fluids, PS fluid is brownish red.

Ok, will do. I have checked all of the aforementioned fluid levels (trans, ps, and coolant) and they are all full however the coolant was kind of low.

It could be dex-cool. Do you know if your car even has dex-cool in it or the green stuff??

It has dex-cool, that is what the guy (whom I bought the car from) said he put back in it after he flushed the system.

Jack your car up, put it on jackstands, get under it and look at the bottom of the waterpump and see if there is any coolant coming out of the weephole.
