I love my LT1, when I take it to car shows, cruise ins or the track and open the hood......people look at the thing like its a two headed snake or something. Scratching their heads and ****!!!!!!!!!(Super vic conversion, elbow, monblade, ws6 style hood and airbox)

And on top of that I was snooping around the Gen III section on this board in a "408" thread. Most of them with an auto trans dont make the power I make OR run the number I do with little ol 383 23* headed LT1

I had a LS car and it was sweet, but I love my LT's. I get to surprise a lot of LS's with that low in torque. Just wish more people outside our circle could show more love for the LT.

I don't know why this is the misconception but LS1's make more low end torque than LT1's

I didn't say I had more than an LS1, I said that I surprise them with mine. I haven't loss a race at the track to a stock LS even if they are running slicks on some kind. 1.94 60ft,8.69 with stock motor & sub frames. 1.70 60ft.-7.92 with 100 shot Zex and still not hooking good. I can get their respect fast. No disrespect for LS cars, like I said I loved mine.

Great looking LT1 cars guys always good to see some pics
I like my speed grille a lot. I bought it from summitracing for about $120.00 dollars. It comes with four screws that screw into your stock grille. Really easy to install and seems to set flush. Would love to take some pics but I clipped a deers back leg and bent the passanger side in a little. Tried to pull it out but still doesnt look like it did. I will eventually buy a new one but not a main concern right now. Thanks!

1meangreenz29- What wheels are you running? They look good.
They're polished aluminum American Racing wheels. I have a full set of 17 x 8.5's. I have 2 others for the rear that are 17 x 11's. These wheels was bought from a friend that owns a wheel and tire shop. The orginal set of 4 was bought used off his V6 camaro and the other 2 was bought brand new. These 2 wheels was in his garage mounted on Comp T/A's but never was mounted to any car. The tires still had the sticker on them. He cut me a really good deal on all of them. I was trying to look up the name of the wheels but couldn't find it. These wheels are no longer for sale. These wheels are a little older, so not going to find them unless you find a used set like I did. I really like them a lot b/c nobody that I know has a complete set on their f-body. Thanks for saying they look good, your car looks excellent too!

I like mine more now then I did before, when I wasnt able to mess with it and the car sat, I stopped really carrying for it. How ever, I have more free time now and have started messing with it again I enjoy the car a lot more. Theres still a ton of stuff I want to do to it, I dont want an LS1 F-body. Not because I dislike LS1s, just I dont want to have to start over again.

well of course i love my lt1, thats why i bought one. i could have bought an ls1 but there was just something about an lt1 that appealed to me more. i know the exterior for one thing i like more than the newer styles but part of it is just lt1s are slightly looked down upon compared to ls1s and people underestimate them. so once i get this thing built and kicking some *** (already kicks some *** now but not enough ) then theyll see what an lt1 can do

Yes, FASTFATBOY you're right they are called "Longboards" and they are 2 piece forged billet, polished. Here is a link to them http://www.truxstor.com/AmericanRacing.htm

wrong i don't know why most LS1 guys refuse to believe this but i have seen the proof my 97 Z28 dynoed right before my buddy's 2002 LS1 both cars were 6 speeds and both cars had only 1 mod. I had a K&N CAI and he had a SLP lid. his car made more PEAK TORQUE and PEAK POWER but my car made had more torque at 3500 rpm and below because the LS1 has more of a torque curve compared to the LT1's flat line that slowly falls off at higher RPM's. the reason for this is volume vs. velocity LT1s have more velocity and LS1s have more volume. its exactly like if you breathe through a small straw small air comes out very fast, but if you breathe through a big straw more air comes out slower. This is what makes the LS1 have more top end pull but the LT1 has a more abrupt torque and not very much top end pull.

sorry for the long post but i cant stand people who just assume that LS1s are better than LT1s at all rpms.

I love mine! Puts the smack down on many things, and everyone asks me all the time "what all do you really have done?" I guess b/c LT1's are so slow, that when one is set up decently nobody believes it! Mines the white one, this is b-4 the TT2's.

This may not mean much to some people, but I've always thought that the LT1/4's exhaust note sounds a lot better than the LS1/2 cars.
