definition of full bolt ons

Default definition of full bolt ons

what would be considered full bolt ons, intake, tb, exhaust ect. whats all needed?

pullies
headers
y pipe
catback
cutout
t-stat
lt4 knock module
free mods

basic things u bolt on to help ur car
now heads/intake/throttle body arent basic and wont do much without the other
some consider gears a bolt on...but u got to install those...

tune will help once all those are obtained

I've heard of gears referred to as a bolt-on
suspension mods are bolted on, just don't add power

There's probably more that I just can't think of right now.

ah yes the rockers...1.6s are a nice upgrade over stock 1.5s
if it were me..id save up and do them with the cam and rest of the valvetrain if that is in ur future...that way u only mess with the valvetrain once

Screw 1.6's. I'm going Scorpion 1.7's. lol. Why don't more people do 1.7's anyways?

I have always been told that "bolt-on's" are anything that can be bolted to the outside of the motor, so I guess Rocker arms,(1.6's or any non-stock Rockers) and rear gears are in the grey area by that. But it goes back to the argument, is the glass half empty or half full

I would say no, but a good argument though Damm you you made me think, J/K. I think this post is due, there needs to be a line, Natural asperated bolt on motor and not Natural asperated bolt on motor, or am I trippin?

There's probably more that I just can't think of right now.
Sometimes its not about how you add power but how well you use the power you have. SFC, Control Arms, Pan Hard Bar and Torque Arm are great upgrades. Do Adjustable on the Torque are and u will def be happy. And then there is the Control Arm Relocation brackets to help even more.

Just because you have 400+HP if its not being used right you can get beat by 300hp.

Also I consider Bolt ons to be anything you can buy and bolt on with hardly any real work from a shop, so to add to this list:
cutout
t-stat
lt4 knock module
free mods (TB Bypass, I spaced on the other 2 common ones.. Oh MAF Descreen is one)
cold air intake
air foil (If you stick with the stock TB)
headers (Long Tube being the general use)
full exhaust
UDP's (What others have you found? I have the Crank have not looked much further yet)
rockers
TB to 52mm or 58mm (58 is really a loss of tq unless u go good FI)
Gears (Its smart to adjust ur ECU for the change)
Torque Arm Adjustable
Control Arms
Pan Hard Bar
Control Arm Relocation Brackets
Sub Frame Connectors
Strut Bar
LSx Brakes
Air Removal (However this requires a code removed)
EGR Removal w/Block Off Plates (Again code removal)
LT4 Intake Manifold or your pref of which to use

I think thats a good list thats got more added to it.

However anything FI or Juiced is not bolt on mainly due to the needs of tuning. Some of us have no problems with this however for the sake of most new users... no stick with everything else these are things you need a good mech or a shops advice on how to do things correctly and not be a Copex modder...

I'd say most people call it bolt on as long as the cam, shortblock, heads and intake are all factory. Now a lot of people consider the intake manifold a "bolt on" so that one is a toss up.

After a header install alot of time your knock sensor picks up false knock, LT4 module is "less" sensitive. Usually solves your problem.

The LT4 knock module replaces the stock one attached to your PCM. It's basically less sensitive to knocking, so it tends to retard ignition timing less then the stock one will if you have "noisy" bolt ons like rocker arms, headers, etc.

Well crap. Ive got a 93. And it seems 93 is Pre KM modability.

Most tuners will desenseitize (i cant spell) them through a tune. I'd look into. I know it netted me .3 seconds and 2mph in the 1/4 afterwards.

If you have headers, def. get an LT4 KM. My car ran like crap for the first couple weeks of having it, and would bog and cut out a little when gently accelerating 4th-6th. I got an LT4 KM and it never happened again. The LT1 KM was picking up a ton of false knock from a terrible exhaust leak, up on the headers, and causing it to retard quite a bit of timing.
