Default 94 Z28 T-Tops 6-speed

Does all the 94' Z28's speeometer's only read up to 115 mph ? I have talked to a few people and they say theirs all read 150. Just wondering if some care where made with either or. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Thanks.

I know that my '94 reads 150. I can't remember the specifics regarding the different speedo, but it may have had something to do with what tires the car was ordered with from the factory. If the tires weren't Z rated, there may have been a rev limiter to keep you from going too fast. Someone will probably know what's up.

no thats not true, my car is a factory 93 z28 and it came with the 115 mph gauge cluster and in my glove compartment sticker it says lt1 z28, BTC is right, if it did not come with z rated tires then it will have a 115 mph speedo

yup. got a '94 T/A and it didnt come optioned with the "high performance package" which means no 150 speedo and lower speed rated tires. among a few other small things i believe.

Exactly.

If your car got speed rated tires (Z speed rated), then you got the 150 speedo. If your car got non-speed rated, it got a speed limiter and a 115 speedo. The speedos are interchangeable, and you can get the limiter programmed out.

Same here! I have always found this to be weird as well. I always thought because my car came with the 3:23 gears from the factory that had something to do with it.

The gauges will physicall fit into place but unless you re-calibrate your pcm for the 150 mph movement of the needle you're going to seem like you have an 8 second car. The needle will move at the same speed and you will still retain your speed limiter.

No need to re-calibrate your pcm for the 150 mph movement of the needle. The calibration is in circuit broad of the cluster itself. Just swap-n-go, you should be fine.
