Cost me $200 to sleeve my block locally, although I'd recommend just doing a new block. It really won't be that bad, I saw a 4 bolt block on here for $400 the other day, or you can do 2 bolt with splayed mains for not a whole lot.

I'm not sure. Skinnies may know as he is the one that originally bought it when it was stock.

One was a 92 or 93 block and one was a 96 block IIRC, I believe you have the 96 block. It's a 4 bolt block that I got from some corvette place in IL(or Indiana...somewhere up there).

Basically pouring concrete in the water jacket's to prevent flex within..

Short Pour is just the lower half of the motor... vice filling up the entire water jacket w/ it...

If you only fill the bottom half of the block it doesn't affect cooling at all. People drive them on the street all the time like that.

It has a small effect on cooling but as long as your cooling system is up to speed you'll barely notice. The hard blok (concrete stuff) used actually insulates the water from the oil and temps come down a bit....

*sigh* Do you know how many people around here have the machinery, or access TO the machinery to do all the stuff like this? So to clarify: If he has access to all the **** needed, he should go for it temporarily till he gets his other block ready to have parts transplanted. If he has to send it someone, then F it.

Here, I'll do it right for you
You are a tool dude. When you don't have a clue what you are talking about don't post on the subject trying to give advice. It just spreads bad info and bad ideas.

That's just stuff on the block, it's not a crack.

Iv'e got one sitting in the garage as a spare. To bad I don't have the funds to do anything with it.
Sorry to see the damage ponyhntr. It sucks some times when the PAY part of the PLAY part rears it's ugly head.
