ASM monoblade TB, truely how good are they compared to a 58mm BBK???
like it says, which is truely better for a LT1??? ASM monoblade throttle body or a 58mm BBK??? or does anyone have a different brand they wanna sell me lol... i have a fully forged 383 stroker with fully ported 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust stock heads, match ported edlebrock high rise intake manifold, etc etc... car runs damn good! my main thing i'm wondering about is do i have to hack up my manifold for the monoblade to work? the main main main thing i'm concerned about is i have a F2 TNT nitrous plate kit, can i still use the plate with the monoblade??? i'm looking to buy either the ASM or the BBK by today or tomorrow by the lattest!!! so i really need your guys help please!!!
Thanks,

Do you have the 58mm nitrous plate? Have you opened up your intake opening for a larger throttle body, or do the edelbrocks come opened up for the larger throttle bodies already?
I know what your getting to though... if it isn't opened up theres no use going with a 58 you might as well get a 52. but it is already opened to a 58mm...

Hehehe. You have that right and that is why I went with one. Regarding the monoblade I believe it helps in this manner.
The air going through the monoblade will be a little slower than through say a 58mm or smaller throttle body. IMHO this will allow the air to better make a 90 degree turn into the front runners instead of blowing past them to the end of the plenum.
Therefore it should help somewhat in a more even air distribution in the plenum area. The rear runners are more likely to have more air than the front runners.

AS&M is supposed to be a work of art BUT. If I were in your position I might look into the Holley 58mm with integrated nitrous "plate". Putting a 58mm plate behind a monoblade is not going to be a good thing flow wise.
Hey everyone,
I know this thread has probably been beaten to a pulp, but I can't decide if the monoblade would give me more power with my set up.
383 stroker, 12.1 compression, ported edlebrock LT4 intake, 210 AFR competition port heads, (236/246 .602/.618 110LSA) cam, ls1 computer, forged internals.
Thank you!!!

Porting the intake for a monoblade destroys the dedicated idle air port, so there may be cylinder balance issues at idle. Of course most 58mm TB's don't seal the idle port anyway.
All I can tell you is when we had a shop, we tested a few items such as the air foil, stepped headers, mufflers ect, and a mono blade resulted in 0 gains, again all motors are different and maybe someone saw gains but we didnt.
