LT1 top horsepower

I know GM Claims the LS1 is engineered for up to 2500 horsepower, but what is the LT1 realistically capable of?

I think its the LSX that is engineered for up to 2500 HP.

+1 on wanting to know what the LT1 can handle.

BigRick with the LT1 record 8.0X in the 1/4 made over 1200RWHP, at that power level I would guess that was around 1400+hp.

I know the technology has slowed down a little for LT1s but does anyone think that record will ever be Eclipsed?

You got cash and a filled LT1 block im sure you could make more then 1400hp

Intrau made 1200rwhp through a glide and a non lockup converter, easily 1600 hp at the flywheel.

The 8.0 run was in the summer, cooler air that car EASILY had a 7.80 in it.
