gosh just take off the valve covers and use a little strength and the headers go right in. no need for all the unbolting the motor mounts and jacking the engine up.

i think depending on the condition of your motor mounts and everything else around it will dictate the method you use to get the headers in. one way might work for one person and not for another. when your installing them you'll see what will work better for you. atleast you'll have the knowledge of all the methods you can use if you fail with one. I havent heard of anyone but myself cutting a piece of the tranny ear to get the passenger header in but it worked great.

I'm considering a set of those too but I plan on wrapping mine. it gets ungodly hot in there. I got a set of super comp shorties and they suck ***, don't ever ever buy those. Not only did they not fit that great they've leaked forever and burn up wires....garbage.

that reminds me, besides wrapping the headers I'd like to isolate alot radiant heat that transfers into the car such as the evap housing and blower housing. Anyone who's put in the pacesetter LT's with the matching Y come across any other tight areas that I could barricade? It gets hot in there and of course with the summer heat my AC stopped working. 113k miles though, much longer than my 3rd gens. It's a 97t/a with a 6spd, keeping air and egr to satisfy NJ, just don't tell them about the driver side cat ;-)

I have my headers wrapped and I definitely notice it is cooler under the hood then with exhaust manifolds, also to deal with the heat I layed down dynamat and B-quite sound deadening mat in the interior. Killed two birds with one stone...its quite and cooler inside now.

the headers alone brought down the egt which made it cooler in my car and under the hood. its still warm in my car but not as hot as it was before. i want to wrap my headers to at some point but that ***** expensive. dynamat is a great idea.

Gotta love NJ and their emissions B.S.! Can't wait to get my car out to Ohio.

just leave the headers loose and put the tough one in first. tighten them together starting from the inside out. dont thread them in a lot at one time. its a slow process but you want them to sit perfect
