Mine goes through the radiator then through the cooler...cant hurt to have 2 cooling points. Especially if you have a high stall convertor, these transmissions can build alot of heat. My last 4l60e will vouch for that

It's the top line on the transmission that is the return. I don't think you will have better cooling if you bypass the radiator. If you can search you will find quite a few threads to verify.

Here's a step by step install on an LT1 from bret franker's page. Why bypass the stock cooler? you'll just keep your trans even cooler, and it's almost like a plug and play situation with the stock cooler still there.

so should i bypass the radiator or not it dose make sense becasue the radiator is hot that it would heat up the tranny oil but on the other hand is dose have air rushin thru is so yes or no on bypassin the radiator??

don't bypass the radiator. yoiu have a stock tranny cooler that will offer up to 30% more cooling in addition to the auxiliary trans cooler. why would you pass that up. it's much easier to go in line with the stock cooler too. it's all on the link i just posted. look at that and follow it. the guy knows what he's talking about.
