I just bought a 1996 SS Mods are Lt4 hotcam with heads,intake,and the roller rockers,new tires and a cheap catback. Well i went to the track and the best I could muscle is a 14.2 and I was babying it out of the hole spinning in first my car is a4 no stall or a full exhaust it basiclly stock with the cam and tune. I no the car should be in the 13s but wat else do i need to get there.

 

What was your mph? 60' foot time? If your mph is low (probaly should be 107-110 or so) and 60' not terribly bad than maybe something else is wrong? The car is obviously choking without headers but thats not the issue. You could definetly use a stall as well and that along with headers and tires plus a little suspension will have you into the 12's easy should be easy mid 12's if the car is running right.

 

Yea it has no stall cai i just put 4.10s in the other day

 

is it tuned for the cam? i ran a 13.0 with the hotcam. stock stall but with longtubes and a catback

 

Yea something is wrong. I run 13.09 with manifolds

 

My 93 T/A with a hot cam, ported heads, VIG and all bolt-ons ran 12.40s.

 

I no that i spin through first like crazy and wen i foot braked it it wheel hops so bad it blew of the tail light cover. It starts spinning at 1100 rpm wen i foot brake it at the track so i dont no it in need a better tire or wat?? im getting long tubes this coming week and lower control arms and get a rid of my k-mart muffler and going with true duals

 

Going long tubes and true duals AIN'T gonna make it stick any better. If you want a better timeslip, buy suspension pieces.

 

What tires did you get? size?

 

4.10s no stall,thats a terrible mixture...gotta get the car into the powerband to get it to 60'

my old 97 m6 ran 12.40s at 111 with STOCK heads a full hotcam kit 3.73s and every bolt on you could buy. For what ever reason that thing was fast!

 

The tires r 275/40 im doing a suspension hopefully real soon and i just bought longtubes so now i have to get lowers frame connectors and a stall

 

Oh yea is i think im going to go with BMR suspension parts "lowers frame connectors panrod bar thing and maybe drag shocks

 

Got to have the suspension to make it go.
