Oil pump distributor gear
Hey guys i'm rebuilding my motor going with a forged stroker. however the oil pump distributor gear is worn out. my current cam is a steel billet cam so my builder said this will most likely happen again unless i go with a bronze or composite gear. unfortunately as most of you know a bronze or composite gear in the lt1 diameter isn't readily available. i did a search but didn't come up with anything too useful. seems like people either fabbed something up to make a different diamater work or had to use the stocker. anybody have any useful tips?

i just found out that my cam is not a billet core. i checked the grind number and it is a cast cam. the stock oil pump drive gear should be fine but it is worn. could it be because the camshaft is moving back and forth? or could it be because my gear has 109K miles and seen two cams besides the stock unit?
comp said use the stock gear but the fact that my oil pump gear was worn out worries me.

were you able to get just the gear or did you have to get the whole drive assembly?
