Default I've been called out...

Well i have some interesting news...Aparently there is a 04 Silver 5-Speed GT that has been wanting to race me for some time now. I just found this out today at a friends house. My friend told me this past weekend that they went to a local 1/8th mile track and his fastest time was a 9.55. I was running 9.23's all stock on a slipping tranny. His mods are Full exhaust, short throw shifter, 4.11's and a 50 shot. Im pretty sure i got this one in the bag... What do you guys think about it?

They have like 260 stock...you got this if you ran what you say you did stock...and if he ran what he said he did with what he has.

Spank him, but hope he doesnt have anything bigger than a 50 shot...

And.......did you get the tranny fixed? (I would assume so, considering you want to race him and all).

Yeah i got the tranny fully rebuilt with a transgo shift kit, plus the mods i have now.

Apparently this guy went to the track to learn how to "race" i cant wait until this weekend to see what happens.

Be careful then. If this kid just went to the track to "learn" to race and ran those numbers that you heard about, it wouldent be impossible for him to be a bit quicker.

But even if he was a decent bit better, you are too and should still spank.

Be careful. If he was running a time that bad with all those mods then it wouldn't be out of the question for him to spin himself into oblivion and sideswipe you by accident. Just make sure you're well in the lead right off the bat

From a dig it seems like you have him especially since he doesn't appear to be able to launch the thing. But from a roll I think hes definetly got you if your an auto, closer if your 6-speed. With LT's, CAI, and a tune I was only beating my buddies '01 GT auto with 3.73's, full exhaust, intake, tune, tb, pullies, by a car or two from a roll.

Hahah, with some of the drivers out there I would not be one bit surprised.

concerning the roll- you just have to be careful how fast of a roll you go from in an automatic. i got pulled on by a stock gti because i was in a dead spot in my 93 z28.

in my lt1 i remember ~35ish was the best. traction permitting of course. sometimes if i just floored it my F1's would spin like they were on snow. if they grabbed though...good times.

If hes got a car all modded out that he cant drive anywhere near what its supposed to be, I think you kicking his *** wouldent make anything much worse than it already is.

Edit : Nice sig therealcreeper, gotta love those Black T/As and gotta love those action shots. And if it isnt an action shot then it damn near looks like one!

I wouldn't race him from a roll, race from a dig.,practice how you'll take off as not to go up in smoke but get moveing quick & you should have it in the bag, especially if the tranny was holding you back quiet abit from it slipping, how does your car feel now with the new tranny, alittle better or night & day?

I'd definitely go from a stop. With the auto, you could be in trouble from a roll. Plus, real bragging rights are only had in a dig race

Big time night and day...it seemd like it took forever for it to shift from 1st to 2nd. But now when it shifts into 2nd it chirps the tires. I've pretty much got my launches down..just enough rpms that i dont white smoke em of the line...lol
