can someone explain how I should PROPERLY launch my car... I worry about the shitty rear-ends they put on these cars so I didn't want to dump the clutch etc...
any pointers?!?
my car has fresh re-built LT1, flowmaster cat-back, K&N C.A.I., 160 degree thermostat, and I got the T56 and thats it performance wise...
wierd thing too is there was a camaro my year there and had a rebuilt motor with the LT4 Hot Cam, 1.6 RR's, stock manifolds and auto and I even beat him!?
I figure my car should be atleast mid to high 14's so ya... it was a pretty humid day it rained just after I left too so...?
anyways, any help is appreciated thanks in advance.
i dont have LT4 hot cam, so i couldnt tell you excatly where to shift at.
Are you on street tires? running drag radials or slicks helps.

i would guess people that launch it harder are the once breaking 10 bolt, and people launching it hard with slicks, eeek.

It's also good to keep in mind that these engines are obsolete and should be judged "relatively" rather than comparing them to Gen IV LS technology--not that you're doing that.
i dont see why you cant get into high 13's unless your engine is lacking power, id just work on the 60ft and try shifting at different rpm's see if it changes anything. Try bring that 60ft down to 1.9 i would also try playing around with the tire pressure see what works best, when i had street tires i got good results with 24psi.

I have done hundreds of runs on stock 10 bolts with stock clutch on DRs leaving at 2500.
60fts in the 1.8-9s and stock ran around 101mph. Even if your spinning bad your trap should be alot closer to 100. And the LT4 cam car should have been running 107-112mph with stock unported heads.
