every pass you make, you need to document (written on a notepad or something, or a post it you can sticky to the steering wheel as to not forget) what rpm, how you launched it, and where the tire pressure is.

there is no set way too launch a stick car, you have to find out and play around with different ways of doing it for your car until you find what it likes! this requires documenting every last little bit of info you can think.
also, every pass, only make one alteration at a time from the last pass.

a different day at a track will affect this too. just because it likes one way (say, 18psi, 4500rpm feathering the pedals out of the hole), doesnt mean thats what it will want the following day! but what it will keep you in the ballpark of what it likes.

also, make sure to line your tires "in the groove" for best traction!

With my LS1 I was able to hit a 1.80 on Nittos by letting out the clutch quickly (not a side step) and stabbing the gas quickly. It's like riding it out but very quickly.

^Exactly, don;t dump the clutch, ease it out quickly! Iv'e pulled 1.7-1.8 on 17" nitto's that way. It's hard to do it consistently tho.

What the hell are you talking about?

Hes should try more RPM for his launch, not less

Also if dumping isnt working, use a little slip in the clutch

I need to make something slip, either the clutch or the tires, i would rather have the tires slip.

if you think you have the parts to take it, just keep raising your launch rpm till the tire starts to spin about one revolution off the line, dead hooking a stick car is asking to break parts. they live longer and rev better if you get that little bit of slip your talking about. slipping the clutch will work but its hell on the clutch and will be short lived if its a street car and gets some miles put on it.
