I had 4.10's in my 96 TA that I daily drive, and I loved them. I chose to replace them with 3.42's because I thought it would be better when the car was on spray, a 150 shot, and might get better mileage. Well is ended up getting the exact same mileage on my heads/cam car and didn't really help my 1/4 times much because I had to learn how to launch the car all over. If I would have known I'd have left the 4.10's in there. They held up to numerous 4k launches on drag radials, slip and go not clutch dumps.

I've been daily driving 4.10s in my 6 speed car since summer of last year. They are nice and I didn't notice my MPG change much.

The 4.11s are a nice gear for the M6, i cruise mine to the track & back & around town, depending on your tire height, i'm just about right with a 26.4" tire & stock cam (trapping that is), your gas mileage shouldn't change, at least not enough to be concerned, you'll still cruise about 2K @ 70, don't expect a huge drop in ET, it ain't going to happen, you'll more then likely loose ET from less traction, but once you put any kind of tire under it, your chances of breaking that 10 bolt. go WAY up, so either stick with the 3.42s, or get a 9" with 4.11s, because once you install them, your going to need a good tire, these cars are $$$$ pits, you can't always skimp, bite the bullet & do it right the 1st. time. I run Yukon gears with a full spool & there noise level is way down.

I definitely shouldn't be wheel hopping. I've got lower control arms AND relocation brackets hahaha. I haven't been to the track with the brackets on though. I've gotten on it a few times on the street though.

I'll give you alittle tip from my esperience , don't think that those LCA relo Brackets are going to CURE your wheel hop lol, it ain't going to happen, ask me how i know , all they will do is help traction, the lower you drop them, the harder they hit the tires, after being told time & time again they will CURE the hop, i was very disapointed after they didn't do sh$t in that department, now i'm told its in the Shocks, that was my original thoughts to begin with I'm running an M6, it might be different with the A4 cars, who knows.

buddy of mine is running sportlines on an a4 and he has stock suspension otherwise. He's also running 315s on the back and he has 0 wheel hop. I've got a m6 just like hollo and he had a TERRIBLE case of wheel hop. On my stock suspension I had it a bit, but now I definitely don't(pretty much after just the lower control arms)... I put the brackets on just to help what I've already got. Actually since I put the arms on I can't remember having wheel hop since. I guess I figure that the brackets will make bald tires work a little better hahaha.

I was looking at 4.10's for my new setup..I decided with 3.89's.
The reason is that I'm trapping 120+ in the 1/4 already, and the top of 4th Gear at 6500 RPM's with 4.10's would come out to about 120mph with my current setup.

With the 3.89's it comes out to about 130mph at the top of 4th.

I usually do it for 300-350 for gears with all the bearings an seals in the rear end (pinion, carrier, wheel bearings, axle seals, and pinion seal) so a good set of gears $200, a deluxe install kit $100, fluids and labor its around $700

I dropped my ET 4 tenths going from a 3.42-4.10

Also with 456 gears in my 9in at 70 I was at 1600 rpms! I thought the car did alot better than stock because to speed up in 6th gear you didnt have to down gear or give it as much petal effort.

Sounds like a stretch... but, I checked it on a gear calc site and it looked okay with the right info... turns out the gear calc site was for something else. Tried this one Camaro Gear Calc and numbers dont work for that low an RPM... oh well, I dont care, was just wondering and wanted to mention it. no big deal.

I went from a 3.23 to a 4.10 (swapped a4 to m6) and wenty from 87mph in the 1/8th, to 90mph. and from running 8.6's to 8.0's. all on street tires.

I cruised to the beach last year through the mountains and averaged 24mpg on the way there.

gears were the last thing I did to my car, and now I wish it was the FIRST thing I did. made the biggest improvement on the car, aside from the cam/LT's and tune.
