Sounds like a plan to me. Thanks again everyone for all the input and help.

PS - The LTx section alone, here, is busier than the ENTIRE MustangForums board. I can't seem to get tech help for **** there unless my questions "What gears should I get?" LOL

You can get alot of help here quick in the peak hours, lots of people float through here during the day.

Sounds like you have a good plan, and If you manage low 12s with the setup your planning on, spray that and you got yourself 11s

Haha I think I'd be doing good if I manage anything better than a 13.3 with suspension/stall/bolt-on car. Maybe with the cam and more tire I'd be able to break into the mid 12's @ 110-112, but even with how great these motors are I don't see them going THAT fast.

Had a buddy recently go 12.3 on the juice (I think a 100, cant remember) with only a 2800 stall/catback and MTs. Bone stock otherwise.

I would say your full bolt on/higher stalled/some suspension/juiced LT1 can easily pull some kind of 11.X run (as long as your running DRs of course, and can drive ).

Welcome to the Dark Side, lol.

Did you already sell the swapped GT? I have a 03-04 Swapped 96, I lov ethat beast!

I am also building an LT1 car for my wife. They get a bad rap from the ls1 guys, but with the right mods can perform just as good (just not out of the box).

I'll probably drop the 100 pills in for now. Honestly, I can't afford to break the bottom end on this thing unless you know for a fact that it will hold something larger.

Seen people do 150 no problems, but you know how that is.

A 100 shot is on the safe side, thats something I would do if I had to drive it home after (like my friend did) and are worried about it going boom. LT1s seem to love the spray so I would do a 150 on an unbuilt LT before I would an unbuilt LS, but others might disagree.

I think your little LT with a 100 shot will surprise the hell out of you

Thats a tough question, but theres many MANY setups floating around here that are 400rwhp+++++ that are still running a stock shortblock and revving to the moon. Its all about how well it was maintained. Some blow right away, others take time. Some dont.

Its all about how much you want from it, and then building it to be prepared for that so it doesnt "come unglued". I think I myself would be thinking about a forged shortblock with anything N/A over 430-450rwhp and spraying over 450rwhp.

You can spray a 150 and have the car stay togeather, like I said. I have seen many people spray 100 and 150 all day long with no problems and then drive home after.

My car did 12.8s with bolt-ons all motor...and 145k on the clock . That is a pretty average bolt-on LT1 time around here, many have gone quite a bit faster. Was a lot more then 2k in it though...

You will be surprised what a nice stall, suspension, and sticky tire will do to a fairly stock LT1 .

For the cam i vote cc306. On my car (94 z auto) with it on stock heads, intake, TB, bottom end, with pace setter midtubes and y pipe I made 347 rwhp with a yank 3000 stall which looks to be about your hp goal and about your price goal as well.

I think you should stick to the original plan...just sneak a nitrous kit in between the stall/LT's/suspension, and the rest of the bolt-ons/cam install. It will make for a nasty machine!

Seems like your on a good track.

I ran the cc503 cam, Yank SS3600, 3.73's, UMI Torque Arm, Lower Control Arms, Panhard, Subframes along with Full Exhaust and M/T ET Streets and that got me low 12's with 1.6x 60's. What was nice is that the cam was safe on the stock block in terms of rpm unlike something any larger that wouldnt necessarily be and the car had great drivability, I would drive it to school and back as a daily which was about 50-60 miles.

I now have all the same setup except I got LE2 heads and a Custom Cam from Lloyd Elliot which is still a 224/230 duration cam and I am very happy. I haven't ran the car but its definetly an 11 sec. car. I would suggest maybe waiting on the cam until you get the heads so that you can get a custom grind that matches the heads and the rest of the setup perfectly. Lloyd Elliot has been real helpful to me even when I was installing everything and is always a call away so I would suggest that you talk to him when your ready for heads.

ET wise, heads/cam with full boltons and suspension and tires will have you right there with your old car!

Does Lloyd have a website to look at rates and such? I've been searching everywhere, but I can't seem to get any kind of contact information.
