Default Where You On Top Or Bottom??

This for current LT1 owners and/or installers of Pace Setter Long Tube Headers. Just ordered a set and removed all exhaust manifolds, wow that sucked. Question, should i go in from the top of the bottom of the car? What did you do? experience with either?

I went from the bottom, and at first it seemed impossible but then i jacked the car up very high with help of some wood blocks and they just sorta fell in. It's good to have a friend bolt them in as soon they slip in, as you are holding them on bottom. Also, I would not recommend using that wiring they provided to extended the O2's just by extensions from Thunder Racing, its much cleaner and better in every way, or hell just make your own, with the GM connectors from say Summit I believe.

I have put several sets in from the bottom. They slid into place like butter. Like ws6chicker said buy some o2 extentions. The wiring and crimp connectors they include is a bad idea.

We had trouble getting it in from the bottom, but when we tried from the top it seemed to be harder. You just gotta get the car up high enough, and angle them sideways and slide them in and then line the bolts up. Hold the headers from the bottom while someone up top is threading in the bolts.

I used the o2 extensions. have not had a single issue.

I got both of mine in from the top. Tried from the bottom but the jack I had wasn't capable of lifting the car up high enough to get the right angle. Had to remove the valve cover on the ps.

Good luck!

I went in from the bottom. Went in with no problems after we removed the steering shaft thinger, the dipstick, alt, and starter. Honestly, the hardest part was working on the passenger side of the motor(plugs, wires, bolts etc). So cramped its not even funny.

For reference, that block under the front tire, is about 10 inches or so tall.

Lots from the bottom, and more to go soon. Just get it as high as you see in the picture supplied by 97lt1camaro.

A lot of people do not know that the casing on the o2 wiring is used to breathe. It is a bad idea to cut them and splice them back together.
