Default Lt1 intake question

I just got my blower engine back from my builder and I noticed my intake that I gave him to install had the holes in the front[ inside ]opened up. Does anybody know why this would be done ?

I think we had a thread here like a week ago about this, and it ended up being part of the PCV system. Not sure though, do a search for intake and I am sure you will find it.

It goes under the intake and connects top the EGR and smog holes on back of intake. There are also little holes in the floor of every runners just a lil way in that goes to the same place on back of intake.

If you remove the metal shield from the bottom of intake, you can see some big pipe plugs. If you remove these, you can see the entire network of those tunnels below the intake.

Interesting. I kinda wondered what was in there but never bothered to take it apart.

But why would some one open the holes up ? What would be the advantage of doing this ?

That would be a question for who ever opened them up or a very good tuner to answer, FWIW, the ones in that pic look stock to me and were never opened up by anyone.

if refering to the actual TB holes in front of intake, yea those have been opened up. If refering to the two in the floor, they still have the factory casting slag on them. It would be about a ***** to get in there and drill them anyway.

the holes at each port are for IAC air. yes opening them up changes things so be ready to chase your individual port tables
