Its not impossible, you could do it with a pretty basic set of hand tools + some odds and ends... I think the only thing thats going to hurt you is the fact you wont have air tools to make it easier

WELL...I could get air tools from my friend, go to his house and do it, hes got lotsa tools...but like...how hard is it to do a whole rear-end switch? someone suggested i grab an old caprice rear-end, he said those were pretty good.

Just find a used 10 bolt and keep it cheap, doesnt have to be anything special unless you think you will be pushing big HP soon ![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
The swap itself is easy, since it can be dropped as one piece.... Just going to need some jackstands and a good jack to get it up there. Other than that its a few bigger sized bolts holding it all in (as stated before, air tools would be helpful depending on if the rear end is origional and real rusty).

If you do want to still go with a newer rear end, and not worry about the brakes and e-brake, you can unbolt the plates that the brake setups mount to. You just have to pull out the axles to remove them (which is silly). Then mount your plates + brakes on there. The other benefit of getting a newer model rear is less miles.
