I think going for the LTx section here would be the best. There's already plenty of sponsors and people here. It seems like it might take a little time but, would ultimately be easier to just seperate the LT1/LT4 section into a few extra catagories so its not all condensed into this ONE section.

Although, for me, its a close 2nd choice for us LTx folk to goto the LTxShootout forum. It is already strictly LTx people, AND the ones that are already there are probably serious folk. I agree with needing to get the heavy hitters and most knowledgable people to whatever site you'd go with and the rest will migrate once they get wind of it. Dont know if you will be imposing on these LTxshootout guys though. They wouldn't have to change their name at least... Just have to incorporate whatever the new suggested forum sections would be to the existing site i.e. : engine tech, tuning tech, appearance,.... It might still be wise to get a more broad and simple domain name and have it redirect you to the LTxShoutout site. So, like registering LTxtech.org or .net .... or even LTx.org or whatever...

Again, just thoughts from the average LT1 owner.

Is it just me, or are the other site links across the top of here not there anymore?

Any way we go, I just want to see a dedicated LTx tech site again. CamaroZ28 is good, LS1Tech is good, but let's keep the short lived LT1/4 stuff alive and kicking with a consolidated database of information.

I did go ahead and register LTxTech.com as a domain so we at least have that for use and pointing towards a site if need be.

It really depends on if Fastbird wants to be in charge, the site could take off easy... I could only imagine how many LTX owners are out there right now looking for an LTX specific site to post on because of LT1tech.com going downhill.

But if Fastbird is willing to do the work to keep it up and change/update then I have no doubts there will be posters there. And more than just a handful...

The only problem with going with other sites already established is finding someone in charge actually concerned about helping LT1 owners.

I am 100% willing to set up, run, maintain, and keep a website updated. Some of you know how long I've been in the LT1 world, and I'm here to stay with zero plans of getting out. I just want to make absolutely sure it's going to be worth my time and effort before I push through with it.

Well, you already have what LT1tech.com dident have... And you havent even started it yet

And look at how many people they ended up with before going belly up! Same thing here on the staying in the LT1 crowd, if anything I will just add an LS1 to the family again

Any word from the shootout/ls1tech.com people on what can be done?

I haven't spoken to either. Here I'm not so sure about because I can't find any links to the seat stays up or New Hemi and the other sites they had. I thought there used to be a link bar across the top with those. Shootout I was under the impression that someone else was asking about that one. I'll jump on that this weekend when I have the time.

I do see those different links across the top of LS1tech your talking about and they work for me. They look like folder tabs. There's "LS1tech", "performance trucks", "Mod Motor Tech", "modern Hemi", and "wiki". Dont know why your not seeing them.... You may have LS1tech setup to a different appearance style than I do.

Edit : just checked my user cp setup for display skin and mine is set to "use forum default". Tried switching it but those flaps are still at the top no matter what. Dont know why your not seeing it.

Same here, I found this site somewhere between 1998-2002, but finally registered in early 2004. At that point I had my LS1 and too and noticed they had a good LT1 section too. Since then I just stayed in the LT1 section here and it is actually pretty good.

But I would still really like to see/be part of a site thats specifically catering to LT1s.

Oh no you didn't.

Give me some time here. I've got the domain registered, just have to secure web space and get a VBulletin subscription. I'm on a four day weekend, but I'm working every flipping day save for monday which is reserved for a BBQ and some detailing of the Vette for my upcoming trip to Ft. Wayne next week.

I got LTxTech.com. Figured it was most fitting since there's so many LT4 converts out there anyway. Not that we would amass a large amount of LT4 equipped vehicles, but heck, the motors are so close to each other anyway.

Good grab, I really couldent think of a better name to go with anyways.

If its going to cost anything significant to get it running let me know, I could potentially help out with some of the cost.

Well, enough web space to get started up shouldn't be more than $10-15 a month. The VBulletin is $150, but I've got a handfull of guys on SpeedDensity.org wanting to throw down too.

Good deal, got alot of interest already?

Nice to get the ball rolling on such a good idea, it has the potential to really take off with all the people looking for a new dedicated LTx site. No time better than now to be putting one up
