Crossmember mounted torque arms!
This is the one I have, and I ripped that Cross Member off of the Car loading it onto the Trailer. The piece is very good quality, the mounting point is shitty from the Factory. I have to mervinize it when I get back..
So what are the pros and cons of having the TA mounted to the tunnel brace and having it mounted to the crossmember?
I see one is 14" longer, that has to make a difference somewhere. Will your 60' times be better/worse with the longer TA?
Someone said you're more likely to pull a wheel/wheels with any body mount TA vs. a transmission mounted TA.
I hope this isn't a subjective issue and i'm starting a big argument.

I have a UMI tunnel mount tq & as far as I can tell my 60' went from 1.80 to 1.76-75 over stock tq...I do get some noise (clunk) now and then. Haven't hit it on anything but car is stock height.
The Tunnel Mounted one is more suited to drag racing, the Trans Crossmember mounted one that is longer is more suited to road racing.
I've had my Tunnel Mounted one on for a long time and it's a great piece, I just had to fix where it mounts.

I have the tunnel mounted Midwest torque here. No noise issues at all. There is a bit more "feel of the road" but nothing big. The short arm is supposed to get the power to the ground a bit harder than the long arm although I cant explain why.

I have nothing bad to say about it. I used a 1/4 inch mounting plate on the inside floor and used grade 8 bolts and locking washers. Car feels excellent and no weird noises here. Just make sure you adjust the pinion angle correctly.

theres no way in hell a tunnel mounted or relocated TA would cause "play" in the ds. shorter TA changes the instant center and gives more torque to lift the chassis and plant the tires more aggressively. the more power you have it could benefit you going to a longer ta, if you have wheelstand issues for example.
