Default Exhaust Help

I've been fighting stupid exhaust leaks with these band clamps...had one on the drivers side collector and got it fixed. Now I have one on the passenger side and I can't seem to get rid of it...I really don't want to get a flange because that'll kill my ground clearance but these band clamps are not cutting it...10 bucks a pop and they only work 90% of the time and then as soon as you loosen one to take a piece of exhaust off it will never ever seal again.

Use muffler mender around the leaky spots then reuse your bandclamps and clamp them as tight as you can without smashing the pipes

I have the Stainless Band Clamps that you get at Napa, I've re-used them several times without any problems.

High temp rtv copper gasket sealant is your best friend! Put a nice bead of it on the inside of the clamp before you put it on and impact the clamp bolts and you should be good!

HOLY SH(*&^ this guy is my hero!!
Thats the best thing I've read on a internet forum in months.....

Seriously though poster you are doing something wrong or have a bad clamp, I've used the dynomax band clamp avail from Summit, Napa etc for years they are the best thing if you have to pull stuff apart, perhaps a bit O' copper RTV as suggested??
