If you get the Spec Stage III make sure you get the new x-pad. I had absolutely no chatter after the install and it grabs like a champ. If your wondering about the flywheels I can;t really help you b/c I kept my stock one and had it remachined. I heard good things about the billet flywheel.

Just got my SPEC stage III in this weekend, and it grabs GREAT! The pedal travel is a little closer to the floor than I expected, meaning it engages the clutch really quick when releasing the pedal. The pressure feels close to stock, maybe a little more firm..but it sticks immediately! No slipping like the stock setup.. I think all the new SPEC stage III's are the X-pad style..thought they switched designs recently..but not 100% sure about it. (I'm new to is as well)

Good luck,

I think they can adjust your clutch pedal so it engages at the top or the bottom of the pedal. Mine was set so it engages right at the top so I don't have to push it to the floor. I'm pretty sure that's what George from TTP/Benson Racing told me.

Thanks for the replies guys. So which kind of clutch did you guys buy? I heard you can choose from a carbon clutch, a kevlar clutch, and a ceramic clutch????

Also did you need to install a master cylinder or anything else?

If you dont know what Im talking about check out http://www.texas-speed.com/ and go to the transmission section and you'll know why im having difficulty in choosing a clutch!

2000_TAWS6,
The new SPEC Stage Clutches with the X-papple are carbon and ceramic mix. That's the way they are sending out from SPEC. I asked when ordering mine from LG Motorsports if it was one they had in stock or if it was coming from SPEC. If it comes from SPEC it'll be the X-paddle. I haven't installed mine yet, waiting on the Aluminum Flywheel to show up. Good luck on your choice!

its 2002

Thanks for the response 01firechicken.

What kind of flywheel did you get? a Star spec flywheel? ls1 speed offers "Gm High Carbon billet flywheel" and "UPDATED GM HYDRAULICS". Would I need both? I know the flywheel can be remachined what about the GM Hydraulics? Would I need those? Would I also need a master cylinder?

Just want to be sure if I buy one I dont end up missing anything and pay twice for shipping.

Hey I live in new braunfels I have the spec stage 3 carbon older style not the new style x pad. This clutch will cure your shifting problems. Since your car is an 02 you do not need to get updated hydraulics. Also you just need to get you stock flywheel resurfaced. I didnt go that route I bought a steel flywheel from spec. Also did the drill mod on the hydraulics. Also changed the tranny fuild to redline d4.
