Default Crankshaft expansion Plug Leak - with fun pictures!

The odd thing is that the clutch seemed to work just fine - this is what you get after 7k miles with a leaking crankshaft expansion plug. I pulled the transmission to install a remote clutch bleeder and this is what I found.

The only symptom was a small amount of oil coming out of the bottom of the bell housing. Plus the car didn't perform as well as expected - think the oil might have caused some lower dyno numbers

The amazing thing is that the car moved at all....

For future reference - the expansion plug is 1" and the GM Part Numbers are 10044811 or 24502262 or the aftermarket Dorman 555018 25.73 MM

That's a pretty good explanation for lower than expected performance!
