Default Identify this bellhousing

I've got a bellhousing I thought was for an F-body T56 that I bought a while back (on this forum) for an LSX conversion into a Miata. I finally got ready to drop the motor in and when bolting the bellhousing and starter up, the bellhousing wouldn't bolt up with the starter in place but it does bolt to the block without the starter on. The bellhousing hits the starter very slightly at the top of the starter nose. I did loosen the starter bolts too but it still hits.

The bellhousing has stamped on it:

Tremec
12-88-212-905-C
A03800

Google didn't turn up these part numbers.

Any idea what I've got? Do all F-body T-56 bell housings have Borg-Warner stamped on them?

Thanks,
Frank

Sounds like a GTO bellhousing. Just have to use a GTO starter with it and everything will be fine.

Funny thing. I remembered when I bought the LS1 that was a donor for this project. The guy mentioned it had some GTO accessories. Turns out it's the starter that's from a GTO, not this bellhousing. I think the bellhousing is correct. My start is made by Mitsubishi. Part number search shows that it's the GTO starter. Guess I'm off to get an F-body starter.

Thanks again. Answered my question in a roundabout way!

Yep. Just got into work and looked up the P/N, your bellhousing is a stock 98-02 Fbody version.
