Question G.T.O.trans question

I hear that the ratio's are different and the torque rating is higher.Any trans guys out there with the facts?Thanks for any and all replies.It is a T-56

The GTO transmission is different in many ways.

The ratios are different, it has triple cone synchros instead of double cones, and the shifter is a completely different setup.

The GTO does have a wider ratio than the F body unit does . It also shares the same syncro design as the Corvette units do . As far as their ratings , I personally believe the Fbody ratio is stronger and better suited for higher powered applications while the GTO ratio works better for heavier cars and cars with lower power .
