i have a 99 camaro with the stock 6 speed in it, now im getting ready to change the fluid but i cant find what i need in my owners manual. I tried Google but no sucess. Please point me in the right direction...

 

Non synthetic ATF Dextron/Mercon III

 

Most people including myself will tell you to stay with the factory fill, which is a Non synth. Dexron III. Some people run syncromesh and all that fancy stuff but I've always felt its a little thick in comparison to the Dex III.

 

penzzoil synchromesh here, shifts like butter

 

I'm going with some Dex III..

 

now can i get DexIII at autozone or kragen?

 

I use Penzoil Synchromesh with great success.

 

i didnt know that i use the same fluid as Automatic transmissions?

 

where can you get syncromesh, and whats differnt about it comparred to the other dexronIII stuff

 

when mine was rebuilt i was told mobil one atf (joe and amber)

 

why wouldnt you use synthetic in a tranismission? ive heard alot of ppl say not to but a few say that synthetic is the way to go

 

You know, the sticker on every t-56 I have ever seen says use ATF III. Which for the people that don't know would be dex/merc III
