Default Stupid vent tube

I've got the transmission back on, but that last damn bolt thats blocked by the vent tube is giving me hell. I couldnt remember if that bolt went thru the bracket on the vent tube... So i stuck it thru it and I am in the process of tightening it down. I have a feeling that it would rattle or make noise if I said to hell with it and put the bolt back in without the vent tube secured... but I REALLY want to at this point. What did everyone else do? Is there a way to just get rid of, or replace it?

It shouldn't be a problem.. I've never had my vent tube secured. The vettes/CTSv models have a very short tube, that's secured to the top access panel of the trans. Anything that will let pressure to escape, and not allow dirt to get it, should work. In a pinch, just zip-tie it off to one of the trans ears..

I've also never secured that vent tube to the trans, it's not going anywhere.

Good. I figured that I would hear it rattling under there. This should make the install a LOT easier, lol. Maybe... MAYBE I'll zip tie it. I should definately have my car back on the road today so I can feel my freshly rebuilt tranny and my new monster stage III and light FW.

I secure the vent tube. Its not that hard, just have to reach up there and feel for it. If you have the bracket on the vent tube correctly, it won't block the bolt head and you can tighten the bolt to the bellhousing without much trouble. I use a 15mm swivel socket and 3 foot extension.

Eh, it was hanging up on me, even though it was inserted correctly and the bolt even started. I didnt want to take any chances ruining any threads, so I took it back out and zip-tied the tube to the side of the trans. Thanks for all the replies yall.
