T56 in Third Gen Info??

If I am not mistaken, you will need the master and slave from an lt1 car. I can't remember if you gotta use the lt1 flywheel/clutch combo or not. Everything else is the same I believe.

I am going off memory here, so I may be a little fuzzy.
I did this a few years ago in my 92 Firebird. I used the lt1 flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. Since it was an lt1 m6, I also used the lt1 master and slave. My car had been a 5 speed, but you have to cut the shifter hole back about 2 inches more. It was real easy to fit. I used an aftermarket crossmember that was a real POS, but I am sure there are other options by now.

You need to use the 4thgen/LT1 master and slave if using an LT1-T56 setup w/bellhousing. You can then use the LT1 flywheel if your motor is a 1pc RMS ('87+).
You can also keep your T5 M/S and bell if you want to put an adaptor plate on the front of an LS1 T56.
You'll find lots of info/FAQs on this swap on TGO
