flywheel removal?

Default flywheel removal?

i have my engine out of my car right now and im trying to remove the flywheel.if i try to turn any of the bolt my crank just rotates and the bolt stays tight.

Does anyone have a technique for getting these bolt out?

its a 93 LT1 engine,thanks

put a screwdriver or some other decent sized metal rod through one of the holes in the flywheel and let the handle side come in contact with the block as you rotate it around by the nut that is still tight it will wedge against the block and let you loosen it, works the same in reverse for tightening...

I've always had luck with just using an impact gun.

Impact!!!! And now that you have it off, you can go buy a flywheel holding tool. You will be glad you did....it will come in handy in the future
