using the evil skipshift for good??? i was brain storming the other day, and i was thinking about how i used to hate skip shift b4 i disabled it a couple years ago. now i then started thinking what if we could use it for good...to prevent downshifting to certain gears at certain speeds...like preventing the 3-2 shift when u are at 75mph or a 2-1 above 40mph for example...can this be done?...and i was thinking it would be cool if it could prevent downshifts in every gear if u were over a certain speed...just wondering if it was possible.. 
that way i could powershift

Re: using the evil skipshift for good??? ive heard of this too. maybe with edit yo could have that seldoid kick in at over 75. it would be a nice piece of security. do a search on "drag cags" this was talked about before.
Re: using the evil skipshift for good??? from what I seen, even though I didnt study it and could be mistaken, there is a slot cut into the lever that guides the trans from 1st to 4th and the CAGS solenois has a pin that goes into that slot. If its positioned anywhere else and the CAG solenoid is activated it wont do anything except guide it from 1st to 4th (or the other way around) if the pin pops in the slot.
It can probably be changed if you take that lever off the trans, weld up the slot and make a new slot/ridge to keep it out of 1-2 if the solenoid is energized but to get the lever out the case has to come off the trans. Most people probably wont want to deal with that..

I have done this with modified parts for some time now. Yes , it works well.

Re: using the evil skipshift for good??? Disconnect the cags solenoid.
Install the skip shift resistor in the wiring harness.
Wire in a switch that hooks up to the CAGS solenoid. It is easiest to tap into the cigarette lighter power under the console and run the wiring through the shifter hole. Hook the switch up in a convenient location like on the dash, shifter or console.
Now when you are racing, energize the CAGS solenoid after shifting into 3rd gear. At this point you won't be able to shift into 2nd gear.

Re: using the evil skipshift for good??? easier, go in ls1 edit and move the mph range to that during which you shift to 4th wide open and move to full load kpa and more than 110% full throttle position.. done 
this will turn on skip shift just before the 3-4 shift and enable you to not miss 4th to 2nd.. then goes off shortly after you enter 4th.
