Default reverse lockout issue after tailshaft housing removal

car is acting like the reverse lockout solenoid isnt plugged in. no, i didnt cross the CAGS solenoid connector (that one is taped off). I've double checked to make sure its plugged in all the way.

is it possible that i didnt line something up right when R&R'ing the tailshaft housing? can i just remove the reverse lockout solenoid and put it right back in? or is there more to it than that?

It is quite rare to have one of these go bad. Yes, you can take the solenoid out/ off separately. I would check the fuse first. You can power it separately to test it also.

Yeah, check the ENG SEN fuse - usually it'll throw a code for P0102 first.

no codes being thrown, but i'll check the fuse anyways.

is the solenoid 12v? i could try to use an old computer power supply and some alligator clips.

and am i hurting anything by pushing the shifter into the reverse gate with the solenoid not operating correctly? if its not hurting anything, i'm not going to be in a huge rush to tinker with it, cuz its not like it needs 100lbs of force to get it into reverse or anything like that.

It won't hurt anything but your arm. Thats why its called an inhibitor and not a lock out.
