in my old 97 I did the 3 back into 2nd, crazy wheel hop, and on the limiter but didnt break anything. Car ran great for years after that.

the key is to put the clutch right back in. Ive done 3rd to 2nd about twice in my life, both times I reacted fast and put the clutch back in.

i definitely shifted 2nd-5th about a month ago. i was so sure i was in third i stomped the gas and went no where. i felt like a tool.

I once hit 2nd on decel instead of 4th at over 100+ heading into an off ramp thankfully I noticed before I released the clutch all the way since my attempt to rev match was so far off and the revs shot way up. -phantazn that sucks bro! I know I was only a **** hair away from being in the same situation.

i tried to downshift to third from to take a mustang and went to fifth like an idiot and didn notice til after i didn go anywhere and lost, then last week i started to take a 96-98 cobra cuz i figured it would be an easy race to take these two **** bags in their "race car" but low and behold i missed third at full throttle hit the rev limiter and just slowed down rolled the windows up and acted like nothin happened lol

Haha all great stories, I cant believe Ive never hurt anything, or maybe I did cuz my car does make all kinds of noises. Ive done the 3-2 at least 3 times, its terrible when your running against a very loud car because then the only thing keying you that you Effed up is the nose dropping to the ground

Whats worst then downshifting is coming into a corner hot, heel-toeing, and your foot slipping off the brake pedal Its happened twice to me and i had JUST ENOUGH road both times

used to do that all the time when i first got my camaro, which was my first M6 car. Ive also done the 2nd - 1st shift and had the rear bounce around alot.

first time at the track with the nitrous on my 3rd pass i went from 2nd-1st tires locked up i thought i blew it up it stalled then i got it runnin put it in gear and it stalled again but it finally went and i drove it the 40minutes home but i was shittin myself
