If your Mcleod master was purchased before Oct 2008 then you have a Generation I master cylinder with the inferior piston design. We suspended the production of this master Last March 2008 and did a complete redesign using the wilwood internals. If your unit is older than 1 year and you are having problems, we will upgrade you to the Gen II design for $125.00. If the unit is less than a year old and you have documentation to support that then we we stand behind a full warranty replacent at no charge. Go to our website www.mcleodind.com click on the 10th tab "RGA Form" fill the form out and send it in.

The Gen I & II Masters look the same from the outside. The difference is in the internal "guts" the Gen I "piston" is anodized a bluish color and the Gen II pistons are black just like the Wilwood 260-5921 rebuild kits.

Yes but only on the Gen II housings. NOT the Gen I housing. If you have a Gen I housing you need to buy the rebuild kit from CNC http://cncbrakes.com/ and purchase a 910ML rebuild kit. The Gen II housings were made specifically for the use of the wilwood kits.

Our stance here at Mcleod is that the Blue piston from CNC which is in the Gen I housings is inferior to the Wilwood design. We have gained such a bad rap from the Gen I housing and the inferior piston design that we suspended all production until we found a better design that does not allow "blow by" and gives a better seal. We found the better seal in the Wilwood unit.

Ok I figured it out, Gen1 you guys used a CNC Master and modified it, for Gen2 you guys took a Wilwood master and modified it. So if I rebuild the CNC is it going to be any better than before? Also you can tell from the outside because if the boot says CNC on it then its Gen1, the gen2 wouldnt say CNC, itd be blank or say wilwood.

Good Identification using the boot! Never thought of that. Neither units are modified for use with whichever piston. The GEN I unit was made by CNC for Mcleod using CNC guts. GEN II is made by Mcleod for Mcleod with Wilwood guts. The Gen II units will not have any wording on the rubber boot, like the first Gen that say CNC.

Hello Billy, It's my car that is having this issue and I'm about to send mine off. I bought mine about 5 or 6 years ago and I don't have a receipt but should be in the database. I bought it brand new from Thunder. Will that be a problem getting it replaced? I just spoke to a Bernie over there a while ago and he said to just send it in with the RGA form.

I'd like to add that yesterday when I was leaving work I pressed in the pedal and put it in first gear. I then released the emergency break and with the pedal all the way to the floor the damn thing starting going forward. How can it move if the clutch is all the way to the floor? It would not stop or let me take it out of gear so I turned the key off, pulled the pedal back up with my toe and it acted fine for a while. It's almost like it burped up a big *** air bubble or something. I still lose pressure when I rest my foot on the pedal but it's acting a little better.
