so i finally just got my car running, and when i do a wot run and let it decel, the car fills with smoke. i removed the interior trim cover to see my exhaust pipes, shifter base, and driveshaft covered in tranny fluid. wtf? i cannot see where its coming from. anyone ever had this issue b4? it has a b&m shifter.

Sounds like you don't have the rubber boot for the shifter to seal out the elements. It also sounds like you didn't use any rtv before bolted down your shifter so that it doesn't leak out.

Fluid usually always travels backwards from where you find it, especially during a fast/WOT launch. Check if the vent tube has come off the top RH side, or if the fill plug has come loose.
How much fluid did you put into the trans when you filled/installed it? (~4 qts)
Is the rear (yoke) seal new/intact in it?

where is the vent tube located? everything seems to be tight, i undersand that it would trave backwards, but it was all over the shifter base. i didnt think that it would travel back and up.

ill try and see if the vent tube is damaged. even if it is damaged, would it be shooting that much fluid out? shouldnt it just be relieving pressure?
