G-force makes the only domestic gearset that is available for the T56. Here is another option from Australia:

I am actually thinking about having Liberty convert a new T56 Magnum to a faceplated design.

This is kind of an odd question, but i havent been in a t56 for a long time and its realted to the thread. Can you run a faceplated gear say in just a couple gears? Like just 3rd or just 2&3? Just wondering, as 3rd really seems to be the only sychro/shifting problem for me. No sense in killing all driveability, can always go 1-4 on the street easy enough

Yes . Most of the units are faceplated in 2nd , 3rd and 4th only . Those are the only gears you really power shift into .

I recall that for some reason Liberty had to do 1st gear as well. I am not exactly sure what the technical issue was, but that is my recollection. It's been a while and that might have changed since then. 5th and 6th retain synchros.

I had asked Amber @ six speeds about the possibility of half a slider face plated such as a syncro'd 1st and a faceplated 2nd when they did the gears for my trans but Liberty either hasnt or cant mfg a slider to work in this manner. The only options for now is to do both gears that are paired on a synchro assm. such as 1&2 or 3&4. If I had to pick a set to do on a trans that saw track use, I'd personally do 3&4. From personal experience and from what I've read here and from talking with others, 4th seems to take a good beating and gets the teeth ruined quicker than 2nd and 1st. Maybe a sponsor could chime in and verify if this is what they're seeing. Is it the smaller dia. synchro assem. of 3&4? Is it because theres bearing slop between the output shaft and the input shaft (which happens to also be 4th gear)? Do the 1st and 2nd just last longer because of the larger dia. of the assem.? Or are they seeing no difference in wear?

2nd probably sees less wear than 3rd or 4th because there is a double cone blocker ring used for 1st and 2nd compared to the single cone of 3rd and 4th. With that said I've seen plenty of beat up engagment teeth on 2nd gears, and the earlier style completely strip the engagment teeth often. I'd consider 2nd to be the weakest gear of all in the units that use the old gear which I believe for the most part were used in '98 and older units.

If you don't plan to shift above 7,000 rpms or make stupid amounts of power don't faceplate it at all....just buy one of our masters and it will shift just fine. But if you are going to faceplate, theres no reason do half the job.

I had my 1st-4th gears faceplated and bought a viper output early 08. Daily drove it till late Aug. 08 when I tore the car down for a 403 stroker and multiple other mods. I'll just say everything didnt go smooth with the parts.
