Give the UMI a chance. I put mine in last night and tonight was out for a couple hours and loving it by the end of 75 miles. Best $20 I ever spent.

I prefer straight up, but my current shifter is angled towards me. I have gotten used to it, but at first I hated it and couldn't shift for ****

I've tried both and prefer the straight shifters through and through. I enjoy the control I get from a straight shifter, and it helps finding the gears in a hurry too. I'm sure with practice I'd get good at using the other type but why bother.

I am wanting to shorten my shifter a little. I already have the Pro 5.0. Getting used to that was fun but once I did, it was (and still is) awesome. My question, is it better to just cut the shaft on the Pro 5.0 or go ahead and shell out the money for a Lou or UMI? Angled doesn't scare me so much as I know I will get used to it like I did the shifter.

I have this also but, I have two versions of LSS. One has slight angle and the other is 2" shorter, noticeably angled more towards the DS. (modified version obviously).

But I like the unmodified LSS one w/ my Hurst Billet.

Why not just shell out the money? The UMI stick was like $25 shipped. I have seen where people have cut down there Pro 5.0 sticks like 1", but why risk ******* it up or cutting too short or not enough or mess it up so it's totally unuseable.

The modified LSS was given to me for free. I used it w/ my stock shifter. It was fine but I couldn't handle the sloppiness so I got the Hurst Billet w/ LSS. Much better now.
