Default double cluthing

Just curious but i always double cluth when i down shift. Guess its just a habit from driving our 10sp truck at work. just wondering if anyone else does that when they downshift to run hard

no. theres no need to double clutch a modern synchro'd trans

i double clutch my downshifts more often then doing them regulary. it just habit for me i guess; easier to rev match to

double cluthing is when you rev the engine to match the transmission speed. It takes a little while to get used to because you have to learn your cars engine speed to wheel speed for the particular gear your are in. Even in a modern synchro trans it doesn't hurt especially when two gears have bad synchros. (third and fifth)cough cough.. makes the cluthe last longer on the big trucks/semis cause they don't have synchros in their trans for durability reasons

i agree 100% slayer. It just makes me feel bad too when i don't and it's way smoother.

Well when your racing its called heel-toe downshifting, well not really with our pedals, more like side stepping
