Default What kind of 5 speed transmission on a 97 S-10
My brother has a 97 S-10 with a 4.3 V-6 and want's to know what type of 5 speed came in the S-10's and what are the alxe ratio's. It is not a SS. It is a short bed regular cab S-10.

my 95 has an New Venture 3500 with 3.42 gears. reg cab short bed 4x4

NV 3500 trans., Look in the glove box at your RPO codes
GU4= 3.08 GU6= 3.42 GT4= 3.73

Depending on 2x4 or 4x4 he has eithor 3.08 3.42 or 3.73 If it is a ZR2 then it has 3.73 If it is a 2wd it has 3.08 If it is a normal 4x4 then you have 3.08 or 3.42
