Since I work at a auto service facility I service mine every 10K(only has 19K on it now, I agree that GM syn mesh is good stuff, BUT if your trans shifts good before the swap it will shift good after using Dex. As far as the 4th gens go if your have a internal problem no alternate fluid will help in most cases, but my trans shifts like [I]butter with dextron so I am sticking with it since I change it fairly often

My first change I used Royal purple and my tranny started grinding gears,after 6 months(60 1/4 passes) I blew some syncro's.
After that I use cheap Dextron 3 like Coastal.The tranny shift great now,even after another 100 1/4 passes.The M6 needs some friction for the syncro's and sliders to catch.

I agree with slow hawk. I used the reg cheep stuf in my stock t-56.
I now use Moble1 in the new one because the builder recomended it, other then that i woulnt have used it. They say it is to slippery for the new trannies.
