What all is included in the kit? Do you have any directions on how to rebuild it?

Thanks,
Josh

Its an O ring and A cup seal.
for a 3/4 inch bore
You can probably pick those up at a Bearing Store for a buck or two.
THats all there is to replace in them
27 Bucks HAHAHAHA

Pull the Master out of the car
Slide the rubber boot back, with a pair of snap ring pliers pull out the c-clip.
inside you will find an aluminum piston with an o-ring at the top and a cup seal at the bottom
pull those two pieces out and hit the Bearing supply house.
Clean it all up and put it back together.
Real Tough job,
It's harder to just get the damn thing outa the car.

Hardware store didn't carry a cup, gotta go to a more specialized store tomorrow.. I looked tho and the o ring is flawless.. The cup has a few nicks right on the edge, but nothing like deep or anything.. Do you think I need to even bother with these parts????

Peace,

Did you get the parts for the rebuild? Part sizes if you have them!

If you look closely at the cup seal
the one I had anyways said 3/4 "
Now I am tryin to remember something that I did a year and a half ago.
I slept at least once since then.
What ever the size says is, get that.
Oh and dont' go to a hardware store.
Look up a Bearing supply house in the yellow pages.
I'm pretty damn sure they will carry that part.

I ended up ordering the kit. The kit includes the whole insides.. spring, piston, new washer, new lock, and new seals. I bought the seals but it kept sticking, and I figured I'd just order the rebuild kit.. its working like a charm now. Napa carries the cup seal, and anywhere will carry the o ring. However, my problem might have been related to something else?? Because after rebuilding the entire thing it worked great. I can't remember if I bought 3/4 or not. I just took the old seal to Napa with me.

Do the rebuilt MC's leak anything like the new ones? My new one has about 5k miles on it and it's dripping on the carpet below it; underneath the boot by the pedal.

This will prevent it from leaking, and not only that.. it'll make the pedal/clutch feel alot better.

It was my understanding that the earlier models had some rough edges left in the bore where either the fluid inlet or outlet was that would cause the cup and o-ring seal to fail prematureally. Supposedly this has been corrected on the newer ones with chamferred or polished edges which do not cut into the seals. If that is what yours is doing you may want to contact Mcleod and see if they will help you out. Otherwise, you may need to get into the bore and try to debur any edges you can see or feel and after that you will most likely want to hit it a few times with a brake hone before you put it back together. Good Luck.
