Sorry to interrupt, but I'm fairly certain I've got a 100% stock shifter, and on the site it says it will fit but with issues. Anyone here install this ona stock shifter and whats your opinion?

you should find out what you've definitely got first. If its stock either way I'm sure the ws6store one or the lous one will fit.

I missed the part where you counted 30+ mpg. Wow !!!

I've never calculated my mileage that accurately.

The G37 and 370Z are probably nice cars, I'll go from a roll on an open road
if the opportunity presents itself. I went with a 350Z over a year ago, I'm not sure if he was trying or not. lol

Out here in California you see tooooooo many 350Zs and G35s.

No problem, you're not interrupting, we just have alot to talk about.

If you have a stock Hurst with the thick shift base, you'll be fine.
If you have a regular stock shifter with the thin base, you might hit the console with a short-shift
handle. It will fit on the shiftbase however.

I suggest you buy a used hurst shifter on here or ebay. They are highly recommended by me.

Here's how to tell if your car came with one stock. Open the driver's side door and look for these codes BBS(for shift ****) and Y4F(shifter provisions).

Right! One of my buddies had that problem with his shortened shifter and I didn't know why. He didn't have the short throw shifter to go with the shorter stick. His shifter kept smacking his console.

on the fuel efficiency subject, yea I was going from one home to another(college student) and I stopped at one gas station and filled up then had to stop and idle for maybe 20 sec at an intersection, but after that I just left cruise control on 75mph and I never hit the brakes the whole time till I got to another gas station about 2hrs later. I filled the tank counted the miles and gallons I put in and that's how I got my number.

I just kinda laugh when people make horrible fuel efficiency comments about my car. I don't even explain lol I can get just as good of mpg as their civic lol and am 10x as fast.

Most people have the misconception that F-bodies and Vettes get bad gas mileage which used to be true yester-year but not these days.

Why have a nice car with alot of power, decent gas mileage, a great bang for the buck, affordable parts and easier to work on ... when you can have a honda ?

Wow! Thanks guys! I checked the drivers side door parts thing and I have BBS but no Y4F. I also just realized that the shift **** has a H on it, haha, and I took off the boot to see a very round and fat base. So I've gotta Hurst?

The thickness of the base is what you're looking for.

Here's a picture of the factory Hurst

Most seem to be happy with the Spec Stage 3+.

Basically from a very reliable source, The Monster guy used to work with the guy at Texas Drive Performance or TDP. TDP still has thier own line of clutches under the name of " Diamond Clutches. " The guy from Monster left TDP and started his own line. I'm not sure if they're the same or not other than the paint. Based on what I was told, the Diamond and Monster is the same but the Monster comes packed in a wood crate and is much more expensive. Diamond clutches were actually around before Monster.
I was also told from this reliable source that Monster was using the same flywheels that can be bought on ebay.

The guy at TDP is also a sponsor here. He is a really good honest guy. I've dealt with him alot and even sent LS1tech members from Texas to TDP.
I get nothing out of it other than helping LS1Tech members.
It's just that Jason at TDP is so busy doing F-body, Vette tranny rebuilds and clutch changeouts, he just doesn't have the time to spend on here.
Plus he didn't want to bash and make a big deal about the whole affair.

Between the Monster and Diamond, I'll take the Diamond but like I said ...
when the time comes again ... Southbend DXD for me.

Still spouting false information I see... by the way, you never called my shop when I asked to discuss this "inside information" that you say you have... And our flywheels are made for us by a machine shop here in Texas, but, I guess your reliable source told you that as well.

Actually I did respond the last time regarding the inside information,
by asking when it would be a good time to call you.

It will be difficult to see without removing the console and cover.

If it's not the factory Hurst, it will have bumps on it and will wrap around where it mounts to the transmission.

Ah well, I'll bolt on the short shifter when it gets here and I'll find out then. Haha. I'll receive it tomorrow so I'll let you guys know. If it hits the trim, I'll bend it with a sledge or something.

also from the pic that looks exactly like mine used to... Vik, when you push the shifter to the right or left, does the shifter snap back to the center? Also, if you could take a picture in 4th gear that'd let me know.
