Default Mucked up my McLeod Magnum Force Twin

I managed to strip the threads off of one of the pin studs while torquing on the pressure plate today. The clutch was used and I guess the threads were just tired. Looks like I'm going to have to actually cut the stud to get it off of the flywheel.

Sucks, I was really looking forward to trying this kind of clutch. It's super lightweight and I got it for a great price (wonder why... haha). It doesn't look worn out or anything; you can still see hatch marks on the metal friction surfaces. The engine is a h/c LS2 that's going into an all-aluminum '66 427 Cobra replica I'm building.

Question is, do I cut the stud, send the clutch to McLeod and wait for it to get "rebuilt" (does anyone know how much that costs?) or just buy something else and keep going?

One or another of the various site sponsors is always running a special on something - Monster, Spec, Ram, etc.

I would call them up and see what they say about your situation man. That's between you and McLeod...

I'm thinking I'll just use something else and try to sell the McLeod. It's muuuuch more clutch than I need anyways. It was just such a good deal for such a sexy piece of kit, I snatched it up when I had the chance.

Billy:

I may take some pictures and send 'em your way via email so you can see what happened and advise on what I'll need.

Thanks!
