How many gears do you need made to make it cost effective? And I mean Reasonable, not cheap. You know how that old saying goes

We do a LOT of highway stuff and Standing mile events here. The Zs from the factory spray right on the headset, and they still break Not as much as the F cars or Vipers(!) but I attribute some of that to weight. 3300# 1000 rwhp Z compared to a 1000hp 37-4100# Viper/Fcar/Cobra.

Not exactly sure but I would guess it would start to get reasonable around 20. I haven't got an exact quote yet. I just briefly talked with G-force. I would think around $800-$900 is getting reasonable for a 5th, 6th, and counter 5th/6th gears. Would you agree to that?

No I don't have a CAD model or a sample gear. I have a G-force T56. I only live about 2 hours from G-force. I am waiting to hear back from Rockland Standard Gear to talk to them about options. I want to make sure there is enough interest in them before I look real hard into it.

Louis,
Give Shep a call. He has a gear set available for these, he just hasn't told anyone yet.

Are you checking preload on the 5/6 exstention? I have stripped 5th out once and then added .003 on to the exstention shaft and is still alive. Btw how much power are putting down thru 5th gear?

No I haven't checked preload on the 5/6 extension. I am putting about 1000 rwhp and about 830 rwtq thru 5th gear in a 4000 lb car. I have about 2 1/2 years of many many runs of 150+ mph on 5th gear so I am not too surprised that I finally broke 5th gear.

good luck with that G Force crap! 3 strikes and they were outtie!!!! f'n losers, i have nothing but misery for them!

I added a pump 3 years ago to spray on the headset. Liberty's has built my trans and except for the clutch explosion of 2007, the trans has been spot on!

my car on the bottle i would guesstimate is def. over 1000 fwhp. not a lite car, but lighter than your 3900# beast!!! props you car hauls!

i don't do 5th and 6th gear pulls. i mean at the top of fourth i am over 145 mph in street trim. if i am doing that, then it is a short burst for tuning purposes shhhh! there are a few nice roads to stretch it out on for a 1/4 mile pass, look at the log and make a few tweaks and giver again.
