Default What's wrong with my car?

The car: 2001 SS M6 with 75k miles. Only mods are cat-back, y-pipe and slp lid. Stock other than that. The previous owner did tell me he put an LS6 clutch in it before I bought it. That was over 30k miles ago.

Over the last couple of weeks, my SS has done something I've never experienced before. The 1st time, I was traveling at 70mph in 6th gear just cruising along and the car lunged or surged. Almost felt like the clutch was engaged for a second and then disengaged.

It's done it a couple of times here and there in 6th but not regularly. Today it did it 3 times on the way home. 1st time in 6th, 2nd time in 5th slowing down and then in 1st while accelerating. It blipped the tires when it did it in 1st.

I've never had a car do this. What could be the problem?

I've got to take a trip from DFW to Colorado Springs in a week and I'm scared to take the car now.
