I'm in the same boat, just limping mine along, the LS7 and the Spec are in my budget but as you still drive as a DD like I do so need a good street set up that will handle some abuse. Hadn't heard,......... since I read a couple of posts before this about the LS7 not lasting very well from abuse...........??

im waiting on more info on hendrix engineering kit, he uses the LS7 clutch kit with a upgraded disk .

Sounds like a good combo and a good setup for a D.D.

After reading alot, seems like the spec kits just dont last long from all the posts Ive read... (but it could be from not using proper shims either..)

I believe Spec includes their own shims...so they are correct.

It's worth mentioning that every car can have slight variances. That being said, and because I have seen as much as 1/4" difference on a concentric bearing/slave assembly from GM, it is clear that measuring can't hurt.

the proper clutch for you...it comes down to your future plans and your planned usage. You really can't go wrong with a stage 3+. But I have countless people running stage 2+'s that love them too! As anyone on this forum know, you can find positive and negative reviews of any product. Sometimes these issues are legitimately relative to a parts issue. But, more times than not it is the result of installation or usage issues.

I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,

Ya im def going to go with monster

the cts-v requires buying the C6 premium package because of the slave cylinder...

so stage 2 is 894+50 for shipping ..

I was in the same boat but spent 2 full weeks researching, I ended up dropping 1200 on a Mcleod Twin with Billet Steel flywheel. I'm going to install it tomorrow. Hope I made the right choice.

Clutch is in, I'd really suggest going with it if your gonna spend 1k on a very heavy feeling monster. This one feels so light I didn't think the clutch was gonna work. It's lighter then my vette and I think it's stock. It's like driving a ford contour or something. But with the new suspension, on only 5 psi it pulled so dang hard with no slip at all.

Sorry I missed this thread earlier Maxspeed.....if you have any questions, let me know...you can give me a call pm or email, and I will get ya squared away.

For your application, I like teh Billet Steel Fly, standard weight (no need for a lightweight for your setup), as you need all teh leverage that a heavier fly provides.
Let me know!
Thanks

Street twin disc setups are the way to go. When the clutch gives out in my 94Gt, I'm going that route.
