I wouldn't think you would a problem with that on a fairly stock motor, at least I haven't.

It's not just the motor. We're probably looking at shift shock. Contributing factors of shift shock are torque, mount stiffness, clutch grippiness, and tire stickiness (think slicks vs street tires).

Thus, I'm trying to balance the mounts so that they do not add any extra stress on the transmission, especially since mine's got a $2000 rebuild on it.

I would get one that re-locates it off the Tranny then.

I'm not looking to change the suspension geometry, just the mount.

F-bodies with tq. arms attached like stock tend to break stock rubber trans. mounts and break tailhousings.
Cars that don't, don't.

Re-read Merv's post and take heed. I'm not saying you need to do it now to replace a broken mount. But look what you just did to the stock mount. Divorcing the tq. arm from the tail. is how to prevent that from happening anywhere near as much.

Yes, I did break the mount, but it is the original mount and I've been racing the car, so I expect it to break. I'm also expecting to be able to get one outside of GM.

Back to my last question. Can I use the V6 A4 mount?

Pretty much.. the 4L60E(V6 or V8) and the T56(LT1 or LS1) use the same mount.

I wonder why, then, that Anchor doesn't list the mount for all engine/trans choices.

btw, you know this how? I just don't want to find myself under my car, realizing that the mount doesn't work.
