Default Need New Trans Mount

Ok guys, I've got a 2000 WS6 LS1 T56 with a broken trans mount. Not only has the drivetrain shifted (gotta force it in reverse), but it rattles at idle and in reverse.

I've heard that a poly trans mount and stock rubber engine mounts can add extra stress to the trans housing during hard acceleration (365hp). Also, I've got a McLeod master cylinder with a Centerforce clutch, so I don't want to shock the 10 bolt too much, even though I've got a girdle on it.

I read an old thread that talked about using an auto mount because the stock manual mounts are oil filled or something. Suggestions?

I can't find a stock rubber mount outside of GM. However, I'm open to suggestions.

Would the V6 A4 mount be different from the V8 A4 mount?

Don't know about the 3.8L tranny mount being the same or not, but where in the world did you hear that the manual mounts are oil filled? I'd just get yourself a stock mount because a poly mount will transmit more NVH to the cabin of the vehicle.

All of them mounts are damn near identical.

I would get the Torque Arm off of the Tranny..as in one of the Tunnel Brace mounted ones.

The oil filled thing is from an old post I found while searching the forums. I see that the Anchor brand 3.8L auto mounts are "hydraulic," whatever that means (oil filled?).

This thread is being made because I can't get a stock mount outside of GM for the manual as far as I can find. (not looking for poly)

I understand that and it's a good deal assuming that the V6 auto mount won't work since I can get one from O'Reilly's for under $25.

Just get a ES trans mount and grind the pre-load bumps off, then install it!

I've read that lots of people with rubber engine mounts and a poly trans mount break their transmission housing. This is because they have a stiffer trans mount than engine mounts.
