The 6 speed cars don't really like a drag radial tire. They seem to prefer a full slick. Are you having any trouble hooking up?

Well @ 3160 (by the way, HOW is your car that light, with you in it? You might want to check another scale, as I am scratching my head on that one.) but will need @ 450 RWHP to get you into the 10's (also, what is your trap speed). If you are actually closer to @ 3400 Lbs (which you probaly are) gonna take @ 525 RWHP to get you into the 10's. So, gonna need @ 600FWHP to get ya there (if you ARE @ 3160 then will take less power..)

Honestly, if the car didn't hook auto it will NOT with a 6sp. A 6sp. is harder to get to leave good, especially consistant. If your "dig" or die like some, you will not be happy with the swap. It will pull harder in 4th than the auto did up top but thats really the only gain you will see.....but will it make up for it in a race with the extra problems with hooking/driver etc.??

How big was the converter/gear? Looks lazy leaving the line...eating up some good ET there, should 60ft in the .40's at least.
Built trans or stocker?

Oh, sorry if you meant that I was saying you were trying to BS anyone, did not mean that. Just saying that it takes QUITE a bit to get our cars ALONE down to that weight, much less WITH driver. The car HAS to be stripped to the bone and you have to be pretty light in the seat of the pants as well. Again, 3160 W/ driver is LIGHT. Say you go 160, that is a 3000 FBody. Again, A LOT of weight reduction

OK, here, your MPH and ET are about right (meaning for your trap speed, your ET is pretty close, and I would not expect to get more out of it)

If you want quicker ET's gonna need more HP. Sure, can work on 60' and the first 330 feet to get quicker ETs, but with your trap speed (118), you are only gonna gain oh so much.

In other words, just swapping over to a 6 speed is not gonna gain you much. Sure, your tranny is sucking up some power, so you might trap @ 120 or so with the 6 speed (unless your converter is spot on, which does not sound like it, you should pick up some MPH with teh 6 speed swap) but is gonna require more work getting it to hook up....

if you want to be in the 10's your 60ft. needs to get down to a low 1.5 -1.45
sell your tires and get a 28" full slick with 12-13 psi. Once you do that you need to heat your tires up in 2nd gear to get the wheel speed up to heat the tire better. If your car can't 60ft. your fighting a uphill battle

Im kinda in the same boat with you. Im running 11.08@126.2 with a 1.61 60ft. My car made 523rwhp and 470ftlbs on a mustang dyno. I launch at 5500rpm with a 4.10 gear with a 28x10.5x15S tire. My car weights 3650lbs with me in it as it would be sitting on the line. I think my car is lacking enough torque to get it moving down the track with these "supposed" head/cam/intake cars doing 10.3s@132 weighing 3400lbs.... Just doesnt make any sense to me really...

I have been 10's on motor(stock short 6.0L) full weight(3775) 6 speed.

I run 4.30-4.88 gears, 28x10 hoosier tire. best susp you can buy(burkhart, midwest chassis,qa1's)

it takes a lot of hard work to get a 6 speed in the 10 all motor. I wish mine was lighter...

I need to sit down and do some bench racing with you. Joey has told me about your car and it sounds bad ***! My goal this winter is to get 300lbs out of the car. I really think I need more gear. My cam is spec'd for spray so I think its giving up some torque.

What gears are in your car?

If you can play around with the suspension to cut some 1.4's which is easy for an F-body than there is your 10 second pass.
